  • ¼ cup Brown Sugar
  • ¼ cup Water or Apple Cider
  • ½ tsp Sea Salt
  • 1 tsp Ground Cardamon
  • ½ tsp Cinnamon
  • 1 tsp Vanilla Extract or Vanilla Bean Extract

Instructions

  • Place a medium pot over medium-high heat. Add the chopped pear along with the brown sugar, water or apple cider, and salt. Cook on medium-high, stirring occasionally, until the pears begin to caramelize and color. Once your pears have reached the desired texture, remove them from the stovetop and enjoy!
  • After about 10 minutes, add in the cardamon, cinnamon, and vanilla, turn the heat down to medium, and cook for another 5 minutes. Taste and adjust the sweetness and spices to your liking. Once your pears have reached the desired texture, remove them from the stovetop and enjoy!
  • Storage Instructions: Store the cooled pear compote in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 1 week. The flavors deepen beautifully over time, making it even more delicious as the days go on.
  • Reheating Instructions: Warm gently on the stovetop over low heat or microwave in short increments until just heated through, adding a splash of water if needed to loosen the texture.
